Though it was far from a vintage performance, the Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely delighted to see Graeme Murty and his men emerge from Easter Road with a win against Hibernian on Wednesday night.
Indeed, life under his watch has proven to be really rather enjoyable for our local Light Blues, who hope they can finish second this season and build on the solid platform he sets up in 2018. So, it’s fair to say the mood amongst our resident Gers has improved of late.
Wel, at least it had.
According to the Scottish Sun, Murty could have to deal with a huge injury blow at Ibrox, with summer signing Graham Dorrans reportedly ruled out for up to three months. The Scotland international is understood to have undergone surgery London for an operation on a troublesome ankle problem, one that has ruled him out since October.
The former Norwich City man – who impressed during his first few games for his boyhood charges – will now miss the Old Firm on December 30th, a huge blow for the Gers, who could certainly do with him on the pitch.
Dorrans is quite clearly above the level of most players in the Scottish Premiership, so not having him around is a massive blow for Murty, in his attempts to better Rangers’ recent record against Celtic.
