Joey Barton’s saga took another turn at Rangers today as the club announced they would be suspending the 34-year-old for three weeks.
After a bust-up with teammate Andy Halliday following their 5-1 thumping at the hands of Celtic, the one-cap England international is then said to have fallen out with manager Mark Warburton.
It is the latest in a long line of disciplinary problems for Barton, who’s future at Ibrox looks increasingly bleak.
While the former Manchester City and Newcastle United midfielder impressed at Burnley last year, is he worth the hassle?
On paper, he should still possess the quality required to control games in the SPFL, though little he has done North of the Border has indicated that.
With the likes of Halliday and Jordan Rossiter (at some point) waiting on the wings, is Barton really worth it?
Granted, a big contract complicates matters, but Warburton has perhaps his biggest decision in charge of the Glasgow club.
So, does Barton have a future at Rangers?
