Report: Gerrard clinches eighth and ninth summer deal as Rangers overhaul continues

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with what Steven Gerrard has already managed to achieve with life at Ibrox and times could be about to get more exciting.

The new Light Blues manager has been active in the transfer window this summer and saw a number of those recruits make an impact during their 6-0 victory against Bury on Friday night.

However, it appears that the former Liverpool star is not quite content with the work he has already completed and according to reports, he has added another pairing to his squad just in time for their Europa League tie with FK Shkupi.

The Glasgow Evening Times are claiming that Gerrard has clinched the double deal of Umar Sadiq and Lassana Coulibaly on season-long loans.

The deals for the Africans take his tally to nine for the summer as he looks to complete his overhaul of the squad he inherited this summer.

He is now hopeful they will be able to be named in his Europa League squad, although the match against the Macedonian minnows will probably have come too quickly for them.

The Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be delighted that the duo are set to be announced as new additions to the squad and will not be able to wait to see them in action for the Light Blues.

The Ibrox faithful will hope Sadiq can offer a huge attacking threat with his presence and provide help to Alfredo Morelos as they look to get a number of goals, whilst Coulibaly will be able to offer plenty of creativity in the middle of the field.
