Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting used to having new players joining them this summer, however, they may need to get used to seeing some depart as well.
Steven Gerrard has been busy in the transfer window since he was appointed as the new manager of the Ibrox outfit, having signed seven players and rumoured to be on the verge of completing an eighth in the coming days.
The former Liverpool man is keen to make sure his squad is as strong as possible as they head into the Scottish Premiership and Europa League season, however, he knows he will now need to trim his team down.
According to the Daily Record, two players that have been told they can leave Rangers this summer are Eduardo Herrera and Fabio Cardoso. Both were brought to the club when Pedro Caxinhia was in charge but they both failed to make the desired impact.
The duo both did not travel to Spain for the training camp, which would signal that they are not in Gerrard’s plans next season.
The writing had looked to be on the wall for the pair as both struggled to make a name for themselves during their debut season. Herrera struggled to find the back of the net following his £1.5million move and is thought to be heading back to Mexico, whilst the number of defenders Gerrard has signed would make Cardoso’s chances of first-team football extremely limited.
