Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with the work that Steven Gerrard has already done with the side, however, it appears he is not quite finished.
The new Ibrox chief has been active in the transfer market making a number of additions to his squad to ensure they are in a strong enough position to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership.
However, according to The Scottish Sun, it appears that the former Liverpool star is not fully finished with his rebuild. It is being reported that the Light Blues are taking an interest in Barnet’s Dwight Pascal.
The 17-year-old has only ever played three senior matches for the National League side, which will confuse the locals in the Tavern as to why the club is interested in him.
However, it should not come as too much of a surprise as Gerrard has the experience of working with the younger players, following his time as the Under-18’s at Anfield and could see a lot of potential in the right-back.
It’s a really strange one for the locals in the Tavern to get their head around as Pascal is not the type of name that has been linked with a move to Ibrox in the past.
The Light Blues have been rumoured with majorly experienced stars like Lucas Leiva, Jermain Defoe and Martin Skrtel previously, however, it could be a change of direction for Gerrard.
Having spent his early days of management in the academy ranks, he may see something in Pascal that not many others do and the locals may just have to trust him on this one, should he make him a Rangers player in the future.
