Report: Gerrard suffers setback as Rangers begin training in Spain

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited about the times ahead and will be hoping they are a sign of things to come.

Steven Gerrard has been busy with his recruitment efforts since he was appointed as the new Light Blues boss and has since taken the squad to Spain for a pre-season camp. The former Liverpool star is looking to see who will be a part of his team and where else he may need to strengthen his side.

However, the new chief will have suffered a setback in those plans, as the Glasgow Evening Times reports that Graham Dorrans has had to leave prematurely.

The midfielder has had to return back to Glasgow where he will have a scheduled scan on a knee injury, another medical concern after having missed several months of last season with ankle ligament damage.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be disappointed that Dorrans is out with another injury, as he had started life in a Rangers shirt fairly well. However, as the year went on, the former Norwich City midfielder has suffered a number of problems and would have hoped he could start this campaign without any of those problems.
