Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to the Scottish Premiership season following a rather successful summer of recruitment.
By no means is Steven Gerrard finished with his plans yet, however, he has already made seven signings so far and is believed to be on the verge of his eighth in the coming days.
With the number of players coming into Ibrox, it is certain that some of the current Light Blues squad would be about to head out of the door, however, the Daily Record are claiming one man will not find out for a little while.
The media outlet is stating that Gerrard has not yet told Bruno Alves whether he still has a future at the club and is prepared to wait until his World Cup campaign with Portugal finishes before telling him his plans.
The defender has been the subject of interest in the past, with a move back to his homeland having been touted, however, nothing concrete has happened at the moment.
The transfer activity that Gerrard has already conducted would suggest that Alves could be free to leave Rangers this summer, as the new manager made it a priority to shore up the defence during his early tenure.
The arrivals of Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic would appear to cast doubt on the centre-back’s place in the team and the locals would not be too unhappy if he did leave the Light Blues this summer.
