Report: Gerrard wants to hand Liverpool record-holder a big Rangers role next season

Steven Gerrard will be turning to Jurgen Klopp for help in the transfer window as Rangers prepare to strengthen and those in the Transfer Tavern can use his connections to their advantage.

The former Liverpool man stepped into his first managerial job when he headed to Ibrox to take control of the Light Blues and will be looking to his former boss as a man to help him in any possible way.

Gerrard is keen on rebuilding his squad having seen a number of poor displays under the guidance of Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty and has already been busy in the transfer market.

He will continue his quest to add and it is believed he will turn to the Reds to bring in some inexpensive talent on a temporary switch. The Daily Express are claiming the Gers will try and bring Ben Woodburn on loan to help add some firepower to the Glasgow outfit.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Wales international striker would certainly help to add goals to a side that had struggled at times to find the back of the net. The teenager has impressed and is believed to have a bright future at Anfield, so a loan move under Gerrard could prove to be beneficial to his development. The club’s youngest ever scorer, the punters propping up our bar would love to see him.

Should Rangers sell the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Woodburn could come in straight away and the locals would hope he could have a similar impact as Moussa Dembele for Old Firm rivals Celtic.
