Report: Mark Allen looking at familiar face ahead of Rangers rebuild

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping Steven Gerrard and Mark Allen can continue their recruitment drive this summer and continue to rebuild the squad.

The pair have been very active during the transfer window since the former Liverpool star joined the club as the new manager and have already brought in three players, with a further couple of additions planned.

However, it does not seem as though the duo are prepared to stop just yet, as reports are suggesting that one man has taken the interest at Ibrox. The Scottish Sun are claiming that the Light Blues are weighing up a move for Brandon Barker from Manchester City.

The 21-year-old winger just spent an impressive loan spell at Hibernian and the Easter Road outfit are keen to bring him back, however, Allen has flagged the player as a possible transfer target, having initially highlighting him when Pedro Caixinha was in charge last year.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be pleased that the club have not finished with their transfer business and will be keen to bring Barker to the club this summer.

The 21-year-old has plenty of pace down the wing and would help to create a number of opportunities for the side to capitalise on. Rangers will feel confident that they can get a deal done for the Citizen’s youngster, with Manchester City prepared to let him leave should he want to further his career elsewhere.
