Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited to see what the future holds with Steven Gerrard at the helm and will be expecting him to make more changes this summer.
The former Liverpool star started his role as manager at his first club on Friday, however, he had been busy before taking the reigns in an official capacity. The Ibrox outfit have already signed a number of new players this summer and is also expected to get rid of a number of his squad as well.
According to a report in the Daily Record, Gerrard is also expected to get some advice about what to expect as the manager of the Light Blues, when Graeme Souness talks to him. Despite admitting that the job has changed since he held it, he has told the Englishman that he needs to do it in his own way and is confident he can become a success in Glasgow.
Souness has become a well-respected pundit since retiring from the professional game and tells things as he sees them, which could be a benefit to Gerrard at Rangers. The locals will hope that he can give him some valuable insight, despite not being at the club since 1991.
The Scotsman has a wealth of experience and the punters in the bar will be looking for Gerrard to tap into some of that knowledge to help make the Light Blues competitive once again.
