Report: Rangers could lose star man as Champions League outfit fly to Scotland for talks

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be pleased with what Steven Gerrard has already achieved at Ibrox, however, he could be about to face his most challenging test yet.

The former Liverpool star has been active in the transfer window this summer improving his squad ahead of the upcoming campaign to ensure he can compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for domestic honours.

However, according to reports in Turkey, he could be about to lose one of his best players as one particular club is set to make a move for him. According to a claim from Milliyet, Fenerbahce are keen on taking Alfredo Morelos from the Light Blues this summer.

It is thought that Damien Comolli is in Scotland to hold talks with Rangers about the possibility of taking the 22-year-old to Istanbul.

Gerrard has made it clear that he would like the young Colombian to stay at Ibrox for as long as possible and has plans for the player who looks to have a bright future.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be desperate to see Morelos stay at Ibrox past the summer transfer window. The Colombian endeared himself to the punters in the bar and was one of their better players last season.

Rangers do not have another out-and-out striker at the club at the moment, although Umar Sadiq is thought to be closing in on a loan deal and the locals will be concerned about where their goals will come from if Morelos does head to Turkey.
