Report: Rangers reject advances from Champions League side

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be concerned about the interest surrounding one of their best players this summer.

Reports have started to circulate suggesting that Alfredo Morelos is a wanted man by Fenerbahce and that the Turkish outfit had made a bid for the Colombian forward.

However, the locals will be delighted to have learnt that the Light Blues have rejected their advances for the player, according to claims by Turkish-Football.

Steven Gerrard has stated in the past that he is keen on keeping Morelos at Ibrox following last season’s exploits, as he finished the campaign as the club’s top goalscorer with 18 goals.

The Colombian has become a fan favourite since his £1.5million summer move last year from HJK Helsinki and was thought to be the subject of a bid from a Chinese Super League side in January.

Landlord’s Verdict

The residents in the Tavern will have been worried if the Light Blues did decide to offload the 22-year-old, as he is their only senior striker in the side and would have been concerned about where the goals would be coming from.

Gerrard will be keen to make his side as strong as possible ahead of the upcoming Scottish Premiership campaign and selling Morelos would go against everything he is trying to achieve.

Keeping the Colombian at Ibrox makes sense and the locals will be delighted that he remains a Ger.
