Rangers fans here in the Tavern are pleased with the business Steven Gerrard has completed so far this summer, as they may be able to challenge for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
The Bluenoses will need to bring in a striker this summer as they’re currently lacking in that department, with many of our local residents wanting their side to challenge for trophies next season. However, it looks as if Rangers are set to miss out on a reported target, as according to The Sun on Sunday (01/07; page 59) (via HITC), Rangers made a £4.5 million approach for Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie, but he now looks set to sign a new deal.
It appears as if Steven Gerrard was keen to make Oli McBurnie his marquee striker signing this summer, with it being reported that he offered £4.5 million to the Welsh club.
However, it’s now understood that Swansea City have fended off the Bluenoses’ approach and are close to agreeing a new contract with the youngster.
So, it looks as if Steven Gerrard has encountered a problem on the transfer front as he may to look elsewhere for a striker with Oli McBurnie set to sign a new deal. Many of our local residents are extremely disappointed with the news as the Bluenoses desperately need to sign another striker.
