Report: Rangers working hard to seal a deal for next summer

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with what Steven Gerrard has already been able to achieve off the pitch since his appointment and it appears he is far from done.

The new manager has been active in the transfer market making a number of signings to improve his squad and ensure that they are in a position to challenge for the Scottish Premiership next season.

Many in the bar will have felt that the number of signings Gerrard has already made would have been enough, however, a report made by Football Insider appears to state that they still have their eyes on one other target.

It is being claimed that the Light Blues are working on a deal to sign in-demand Peterborough United winger Gwion Edwards on a pre-contract agreement. The Posh are determined to keep hold of him, having already rejected a bid from an unnamed club this summer, however, Rangers are considering to make him an offer in January in an effort to get him on a free transfer.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern will be excited with the prospect of Edwards joining them next season if he can continue to show the form that made him a wanted man this summer.

The skilful winger is considered to be one of the best attackers outside of the Premier League and Championship and made a real difference for Peterborough last season. The 25-year-old scored seven times, whilst also providing five assists in 33 games for the Posh.

Should he return those figures, or better, the Rangers fans in the Tavern will feel that they will get a bargain man next summer if they can land him on a pre-agreement.
