Report reveals Gerrard was snubbed as talented midfielder opted elsewhere

Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting used to the good times under Steven Gerrard since he was appointed as the manager, however, it looks as though they may have suffered a setback.

The new Light Blues boss has been busy in the transfer market this summer as he looks to bring a number of additions to his squad and turn them into a competitive force, something that looks as though he has been fairly successful with.

However, according to a report made by the Northern Echo, it appears that Gerrard had missed out on one of his targets, despite offering the player a very attractive offer.

Dylan McGeouch decided to leave Hibernian on a free transfer this summer and recently joined Sunderland in League One, although it is being claimed that Rangers also made him an offer.

The 25-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox as Gerrard looked to rebuild, however, it appears he has decided to try his luck with the Black Cats instead.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Rangers fans in the Tavern would have been disappointed to have missed out on McGeouch in the first place, before being told that the club did offer him an attractive proposal.

The blow would have hit the Light Blues and Gerrard hard initially as the 25-year-old is thought to be one of Scotland’s best midfielders, however, the arrivals that have been made will make it easier to swallow.
