Celtic fans here in the Tavern will be desperate for their side to secure even more silverware next season after yet another successful domestic season.
Indeed, the Hoops will be looking to take a step in the right direction by bringing in a number of quality players this summer, with aims of improving in Europe next season. Although, it looks as one Celtic player in particular is attracting interest from the Premier League, as according to the Express, Crystal Palace are eyeing Stuart Armstrong.
Crystal Palace are weighing up a move for Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong, who is going into the last year of his contract at Parkhead.
The Eagles’ director of football Dougie Freedman is a big fan of Armstrong and has him on a list of summer targets.
Interestingly, the Premier League club are aware that the 26-year-old is stalling over a new deal, and Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers has already warned he won’t let talks run on like they did before he signed his last contract.
The Scottish champions haven’t given up on keeping Armstrong but know there is interest in England, where Southampton have been long-time admirers.
Brendan Rodgers’ patience is wearing thin with the midfielder as he has already warned he won’t let talks run on like they did before he signed, so this may force the Scotsman into moving away this summer with very little time to have a real think and make a decision. Indeed, losing Stuart Armstong would weaken Celtic massively as the central midfielder has already shown that he can provide goals and assists both in Europe and domestically. And, with Scott Brown getting on with age, the Hoops will have lost a potential replacement in the form of Armstrong.
