Celtic fans will be disappointed that they could not clinch the Scottish Premiership at the weekend after a defeat to Hibernian, however, punters in the Transfer Tavern will look for their side to complete the job against Old Firm rivals Rangers at the weekend.
Brendan Rodgers’ team were expected to retain the trophy for the seventh time in a row at Easter Road, however, the Bhoys were well off the pace and were beaten 2-1 by former manager Neil Lennon.
Moussa Dembele missed that game with an injury and it is thought he will now be in a race against his fitness to make sure he can play against the Ibrox outfit next weekend, according to the Scottish Sun.
The 21-year-old, who has been touted with a possible move away from Celtic Park in recent windows, has an impressive record when it comes to playing against Rangers. In the nine games he has played against them, he has scored seven times, including a goal in the 4-0 victory against Graeme Murty’s side in the Scottish Cup semi-final two weekends ago.
There is no certainty that Dembele will be available for the match where they hope to finally confirm their status as champions once again, however, Brendan Rodgers holds hopes his key man will be fit.
Celtic fans in the Tavern will be hoping Dembele is fit to play against Rangers at the weekend, as he has proven to know where the net is against the Old Firm rivals. Should he remain unavailable, a number of punters will still be confident they can get the job done with Leigh Griffiths and co. leading the attack.
