Rodgers makes comments on latest man linked with move to Celtic

Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern will want to see their side strengthen this summer as they look to continue to dominate Scottish football, however, it appears one man is not currently on their radar.

Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he would like to make a couple of additions to his squad following the recent departures, however, he is not in the market for a frontman.

The Hoops have recently signed Odsonne Edouard to a permanent deal and still have the likes of Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele on their book, despite being linked with Danny Ings.

The Liverpool attacker has made himself available this summer as he looks for a fresh challenge, however, Rodgers has told Sky Sports that he is not needed at Celtic Park.

“Danny (Ings) is a fantastic player and has been really, really unfortunate for a few years with injury but I have got three strikers at the moment and we don’t need any more,” he told Sky Sports.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Celtic fans in the Tavern would be in agreement with Rodgers that he does not need another striker at the club, however, that could all change should Dembele be sold to one of the European sides thought to be floating around.

Ings could have proved to be a solid signing, however, it would have been difficult for him to get the game time that he wants when the Celtic squad already has the three strikers they have at their disposal.
