Rodgers provides positive transfer update with European qualifier approaching – Report

Celtic fans here in the Tavern are expecting nothing less than another treble in the next campaign after completely dominating domestically.

The Hoops didn’t break a sweat in the last campaign as they secured yet another treble under Brendan Rodgers. And, it looks as if Rodgers is also working hard on the transfer front to keep his trophy-winning squad together, as according to the Daily Record, Rodgers insists that Jozo Simunovic will be staying put this summer.

Encouragingly, it looks as if Jozo Simunovic will be staying put at Celtic as Brendan Rodgers has fired a warning to French club Lille who are said to be interested in the defender.

Indeed, with Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig set to miss key Champions League qualifiers due to their involvement in the World Cup, the Celtic boss is not interested in letting Simunovic leave.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Supporters will be delighted that Rodgers has insisted that Simunovic will be staying put this summer despite interest from Lille. And, with the European qualifiers around the corner, the Hoops will need all the firepower at their disposal.
