Ryan Jack ruled out of Villarreal clash

Rangers will be desperate to get off to a positive start in Europe under Steven Gerrard as they’re set to tackle the Europa League group stages.

The Bluenoses have looked rather accomplished so far this season as Gerrard continues to make positive changes in the Scottish capital. Although, they did suffer a setback on the injury front recently, as according to the Herald Scotland, Ryan Jack has been ruled out of Rangers’ Europa League clash with Villarreal.

Ryan Jack has been ruled out of Rangers’ Europa League clash with Villarreal after picking up a calf injury.

The 26-year-old has looked impressive under the guidance of Steven Gerrard as one of the standout performers in the side, so the Bluenoses will be gutted to be without his services in Europe.

And, this is what Steven Gerrard had to say:

“Ryan Jack has done his calf and will be missing tomorrow and Thursday. He will be scanned for further assessment.”

THE VERDICT:

Rangers will be desperate to enjoy some success in Europe under Steven Gerrard having worked their way through the qualification stages.

Although, they won’t be happy with Ryan Jack’s absence as he has been outstanding so far this season, so Gerrard will have to do his best to fill the big void left by the midfielder.

Villarreal are a tough Spanish side that have the ability to go all the way in the competition, which makes life even harder for the Rangers boss.
