Scott Arfield to return for Rangers’ clash with Osijek

Rangers will be preparing for their Europa League qualifier with Osijek on Thursday as they look to progress to the next round of the competition.

The Light Blues have been enjoying success under Steven Gerrard following his arrival at the club, however, they will be wary of complacency when facing the Croatian outfit.

The Scottish Premiership side will take a one-goal advantage to the European state with them but they will know that they need to be at their best to reach the next round.

However, according to a report in the Daily Record, Gerrard’s side could be in a good position to potentially face Maribor in the next round as one of his latest signings is available for selection.

The media outlet are claiming that Scott Arfield is ready to make a return to the first-team after he missed the last two qualifying games with an injury.

The former Burnley man had to limp out of their first match with FK Shkupi, however, his return will give the new manager a welcomed headache as he looks to select his best side.

The Verdict:

Arfield’s return will be a welcomed boost to Rangers as they look to progress to the next round of the tournament.

The midfielder is hugely experienced and is extremely versatile, giving Gerrard a number of options to choose from for their upcoming match in Croatia.

The Light Blues have plenty of options available for the clash, however, with Arfield being available, it will give them even more confidence that they can progress to the next round of the Europa League.
