Sheffield United fans will agree that Saturday’s result was hugely disappointing as they missed out on the opportunity to keep the pressure on Norwich City, with Leeds leapfrogging them.
The Blades have been the surprise package in the Championship this season after making a name for themselves in the last campaign. Many fans will agree that this is their best chance of securing promotion to the Premier League, so missing out would be absolutely devastating.
What’s the news?
It appears as if the Blades are on course for defeat in the race for a left-back, as according to Football Insider, Derby County are leading the race to sign Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie.
The versatile player has been rather impressive in the current campaign, producing four goals and four assists, so it comes as no surprise that Chris Wilder is looking to sign him on a free in the summer.
Sheffield United already have Enda Stevens thriving at left-back at Bramall Lane, so it would be interesting to see where the Scotsman fits in if he makes the move to Sheffield.
Although, with Derby County leading the race at this moment in time and Scottish giants Rangers also in the hunt for the defender, perhaps securing Premier League football can tilt the race in Sheffield United’s favour.
It remains to be seen as to whether he’s good enough to make the step up, but with him being available on a free in the summer it’s not exactly a big gamble.
Sheffield United fans, do you think Shinnie is good enough for the Premier League if you secure promotion this season?
