The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are less than pleased with the news that Ryan Hardie has been loaned out to Livingston this season. The 21-year-old striker has just one-year left on his contract yet the club has opted to send him out on loan for that year.
Ryan Hardie has joined Livingston on a years loan
This is what we predicted when contract was signed
Chance for the player in the Premier league, Best of luck @Ryanhardie9

The Gers propping our bar up would have loved to see Steven Gerrard throw a chance to the young Hardie, although that isn’t the case this season as Hardie will have to continue to impress at Livingston. The young striker spent the second half of last season out on-loan at Livingston in the Scottish Championship where he bagged eight goals in 16 league games, which has ultimately led to Livingston moving to sign him again.
If the young striker can impress again in the Scottish Premier League, after helping his loan club to win promotion through the playoff last season. If the 21-year-old can put similar numbers up this season as he did last year then it could convince Gerrard to give the striker a chance at Ibrox. By that time though, Josh Windass and Alfredo Morelos could have nailed down a place in the eleven with their goals over the next 12 months.
You can read our local Bluenoses’ opinions on Hardie here:
Doesn't really make sense to me. As others have said, why extend his deal by a year if we aren't going to give him a crack at 1st team level with ourselves.
All the best @Ryanhardie9 keep doing what you do lad. Hopefully you'll get a run next season… if you decide to stay.

Try him out in spfl absolutely but what would be the harm in offering him a 2 year deal? Least that way if he’s still not in the gaffer’s plans we can get some cash for the lad. Wish him the best of luck though for the aeason ahead.

That's so disappointing I thought this could have been his year.

So we offered him a year then loaned him out for a year? Seems strange.

Whilst Hardie now has guaranteed first-team football next season, the fans aren’t happy that he won’t be at Ibrox.
