Rangers have been enjoying life under Steven Gerrard since his appointment as the new manager and will be hoping it continues for as long as possible.
The Light Blues have been playing well under the former Liverpool star’s guidance and have a one-goal advantage as they prepare to welcome Osijek to Ibrox for a place in the next round of the Europa League.
Gerrard has been busy making sure his team is as strong as possible in the summer transfer market, making a number of additions, as well as letting a number of players leave, however, it appears he has no intention of letting one man in particular go.
According to a report in The Glasgow Evening Times, the new Ibrox chief has backed winger Glenn Middleton to become a key player in his squad this season and raved about how much talent the youth product has.
The winger has certainly impressed since being put in the first-team during this summer’s pre-season and is a talented individual.
The 18-year-old has been capped at Scotland’s youth level and has produced some encouraging performances for Gerrard.
With the confidence shown by his new manager, Middleton should be able to compete for a regular first-team spot with the Light Blues and make an impact in the upcoming campaign.
