If Steven Gerrard’s first season as a manager is anything to go by, Rangers will be feeling that success could come back to them in the near future.
One man that has been crucial for the rookie boss is Alfredo Morelos this season, with the Colombian international in red-hot form, despite having to miss a number of matches because of disciplinary issues.
What’s the News?
It is no secret that the 22-year-old has attracted plenty of interest over the past couple of transfer windows, however, it seems Gerrard is not too bothered by it and actually welcomes it.
SG: I’m sure the interest is flattering for Alfredo, in terms of me, nothing changes. He puts a smile on my face as he is such a top, top player. The interest and speculation are not going to go away. I’d be more worried if people weren’t interested in our players.

Speaking in his press conference, via the club’s official Twitter account, the Light Blues manager revealed that he would be more worried if other sides were not interested in his players, rather than his key men being constantly linked with moves away from Ibrox.
Morelos is certainly a favourite at Rangers and has clearly become an important player for the Light Blues during his short time at the club.
The Ibrox fanbase will be desperate to keep hold of the Colombian for as long as possible as his 16 goals have been crucial in their efforts to try and end the dominance their Old Firm rivals Celtic have had at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Gerrard is right in a way that the interest means that his players are playing extremely well, however, there will be no doubt that he would love for the speculation and transfer stories surrounding the 22-year-old to go away.
Should Morelos ever leave the Ibrox outfit, Rangers would certainly have a tough ask in trying to replace him as finding a striker of his quality could be difficult to find as they are not the type of player to be available too often.
