Steven Gerrard pushing to get deal done for Joe Worrall

Rangers appear to be remaining busy with their recruitment drive this summer as the transfer window is set to close on Friday.

And, according to a report by The Daily Record, Steven Gerrard is looking to push through another deal within the next 24 hours.

It is understood that he has been in personal contact with Nottingham Forest about the possibility of taking Joe Worrall on loan for the season.

The media outlet have claimed that Gerrard has had to give the club reassurances that his time in Scotland would be worthwhile and that he would feature regularly, despite a blossoming partnership between Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson.

The England Under-21 international does not appear to be part of Aitor Karanka’s plans and the Light Blues are keen to take him to Ibrox.

The Tricky Trees have made plenty of acquisitions this summer themselves, which has seen the £7.2million-rated defender, as per Transfermarkt, fall further down the pecking order.

The Verdict:

Rangers have been extremely busy in the transfer window, however, Worrall could be the final piece of the puzzle for Gerrard and the club.

The Light Blues manager has made it no secret that he wants another defender to be added to his squad and the England Under-21 international would be an excellent addition.

Should a move be able to materialise in the next 24 hours, Worrall could be in contention to make his debut for the Ibrox outfit at the weekend, against Old Firm rivals Celtic.
