Rangers host Spartak Moscow on Thursday night as they look to continue their fine form in the Europa League, knowing a win could make qualification to the next round a real possibility.
The Russians are not in the best form themselves, having just sacked their manager recently, a situation Steven Gerrard will be looking for his side to take full advantage of when they come to Glasgow.
The manager will want to see a better performance from his team following their 4-1 victory against Hamilton Academical, a scoreline that rather flattered the Light Blues.
However, Rangers could be handed a huge boost ahead of the visit from the Russian giants as Gerrard confirmed that two of his key men are available.
“We should have [Borna] Barisic available and the decision on whether he is in the squad will come down to whether he is ready in terms of training minutes to be involved,” he told the club’s official website.
“Ryan Jack is available, and Scott Arfield is touch and go, 50-50.”
The duo’s availability for Rangers will have come as a huge boost ahead of their meeting with Spartak Moscow at Ibrox on Thursday.
Barisic has been brilliant on the left-hand side of defence following his summer arrival and should he be ready to feature, it is likely that he will be involved, although Jon Flanagan has filled in well for him on the left as well.
Jack’s return will also be timely, although it remains to be seen whether Gerrard puts him in the team straight away or may look to use him from the bench.
