Steven Gerrard still wants two new additions at Rangers

Steven Gerrard has started life at Rangers in a very pro-active manner and it appears he is not ready to slow down just yet as the beginning of the Scottish Premiership season fast approaches.

The Light Blues chief has overseen a complete overhaul of his squad this summer and has signed ten new players to improve his squad as they look to compete with the likes of Aberdeen and Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Despite adding almost a whole new starting XI to his side, Gerrard has failed to land a number of other targets during the transfer window and according to reports, it does not appear that he is quite content with the team he has just yet.

The Scottish Sun are claiming that the former Liverpool man is still targeting moves for a centre-back and a striker ahead of Sunday’s league opener with Aberdeen.

A move for Manchester City’s Kean Bryan is now dead, which has led the new manager to look elsewhere, whilst Kyle Lafferty was the subject of a bid at the weekend that was knocked back swiftly by Heart of Midlothian.

The Verdict:

Rangers will need to act quickly in the transfer market if they are to get two more players to Ibrox before their match on Sunday.

Gerrard is finding it difficult to bring a centre-back to the side after having seen bids for Millwall’s Jake Cooper consistently turned down, whilst he only has two main strikers at the club currently.

The Light Blues have performed well in their competitive games so far, however, should the club find the two men they need, they could be able to perform a lot better and become a strong unit to come up against.
