The Auld Firm. Explained.

Steven Whittaker to be shown a card versus Celtic 0.05 pts @ 7-2
David Weir to be shown a card versus Celtic 0.05 pts @ 5-2

I want to get with bookings in the Glasgow derby tonight but the prices are ridiculous. Over 46 bookings points is a shocking 1-8 with Coral and over 90 bookings points is a mere 6-5 with Paddy Power with fireworks being likely.
I am expecting the Rangers defence to be stretched tonight on the wide playing Celtic Park by the likes of Kris Commons and to look at the away sides full-backs to be carded is an obvious starting point. Steven Whittaker can play in midfield but has recently occupied the right-back spot for Rangers and will be facing Commons. I have looked at the last six matches Celtic have played at home to Rangers as my source of statistics. Whittaker has played in three of those matches and picked up one yellow.

A 33% chance therefore of obtaining a card tonight would be the estimation and we can get 7-2 with Skybet. The prices of 7-2 obviously influenced by the fact Whittaker has suffered no cards at all this season. I wanted to stick primarily to the Rangers defenders and Davie Weir is another who could be facing a card, as long as he actually plays. He was left out at the weekend but the general feeling is he will return tonight and the referees whistle may be music to our ears.

Weir has played in all of the last six matches at Celtic Park, being yellow carded three times. Therefore he would represent an evens money shot but we are being dangled a carrot at 5-2 by Skybet. The odds are in our favour as long as he gets the nod to play and should be taken.

Other players in the away side who may be looking at a card are Majid Bougherra at 11-10 who has picked up 2 bookings from 4 away to Celtic in recent times and on loan Kyle Bartlett at 7-4.
Bartlett was carded in his only appearance against Celtic, but the question is whether he will start? If he does he will surely be in the middle of the park in a tenacious battle with the likes of the home sides Kayal and Brown. Having only played one OId Firm match inexperience dictates he could get on the wrong side of referee Calum Murray as he goes out all guns to win over his new fans.
