The Best Player In Madrid’s Academy Is…Scottish?!

Real Madrid has produced some quality players in the last couple of decades. The likes of Raul, Iker Casillas and Guti have all come through the youth ranks in recent years and there’s a new star emerging. And he’s Scottish believe it or not.

Fourteen year old Jack Harper is getting rave reviews in Madrid and is expected to go and break into the first team in the years to come. Last week Harper, who is a Spanish born Scot, scored a hat trick in a youth game and now has a decision to make as Spain are keen to call him up to their under 16 squad .

One of the academy coaches at Madrid said: “He is a mixture of Spanish art with the tough character of the players from Scotland.”

The young midfielder is regarded as the best young player at Madrid and coach Santiago Sanchez said this about him: “Time will tell how far Jack will go, but I think without doubt he is one of the hottest prospects to play for Real Madrid in the near future. He has a lot of talent and while he has a lot of developing to do, I really believe he will play for Real Madrid in years to come.”

A Scottish lad showing the foreigner’s how to play, it’s great to see. And completely baffling.
