These 2 Celtic wonderkids need to prove it next season

Celtic fans here in the Tavern are delighted with how their side has performed this season as they remain on course for the treble.

Brendan Rodgers has been a breath of fresh air since taking the hot seat at Celtic Park back in 2016, as the Hoops remain on course for their second successive treble. Although, this isn’t the only success that the 45-year-old has enjoyed since moving to the Scottish Premiership, as he has been able to help with Kieran Tierney’s rise to stardom.

But, his hard work won’t stop there as a number of the club’s youngsters will be desperate to follow Tierney into the first-team ranks, with Rodgers always open to giving youth a chance if they can show that they’re ready.

So, an opportunity may not be too far away for these TWO wonderkids, who will need to prove they have what it takes next season…

Conor Hazard

There’s no doubt that Conor Hazard has a big future ahead of him as he already finds himself in the Northern Ireland senior squad.

But, he didn’t manage to secure a place in the first-team ranks at Celtic in the current campaign, as he spent the second half of the season on loan at Falkirk.

However, if he manages to enjoy a successful pre-season and catches the eye of manager Brendan Rodgers, then he may be able to establish himself as the club’s second-choice goalkeeper next season.

Michael Johnston

The teen sensation made his debut for the Hoops back in 2017, in a 4-1 victory over St Johnstone at Celtic Park. And, it’s safe to say that he hasn’t looked back since as he continues to establish himself as one of the brightest talents at the club, with a few first-team appearances to his name in the current campaign.

So, if the 19-year-old continues to improve and work hard over the course of the summer months, then he should find it easy to break into the first-team on a regular basis next season.
