Brendan Rodgers has been busy improving his attacking ranks at Celtic this winter, with the additions on Timothy Weah, Oliver Burke and Vakoun Issouf Bayo.
The Hoops have since been linked with a move for Yaya Toure to try and help bolster their midfield department as well, although it does appear to be a little ambitious.
Celtic already have a player of Scott Brown’s quality in the middle of the park, however, would the former Premier League star be a better option to have?
The former Manchester City ace, who won the Premier League three times with the club, is currently a free agent after deciding to end his agreement with Olympiakos.
The 35-year-old is still keen on playing football and the Scottish Premiership champions are a club that are thought to be considering whether to make a move for him.
Toure is an extremely powerful midfielder that can play in an attacking or defensive role and has plenty of experience of winning trophies at the highest level.
His wages would likely be at the top-end, however, with his brother Kolo Toure at the Bhoys in a coaching capacity, there is a chance that he could team up with the Parkhead side.

A stalwart for Celtic, Brown has played a key role for the club since 2007 when he joined from Hibernian.
The skipper has been one of the Bhoy’s most influential figures for the past decade and has played a vital role in their efforts to dominate the football across the border – making over 300 appearances in the league.
However, the 33-year-old has had trouble this season with injury and his performances have not been at the standard he usually sets – with the Old Firm defeat to Rangers prior to the winter break standing out.
Brown’s future has also come into question recently as he has just six months left on his current deal at Celtic Park, with interest from Australia and the United States of America in the player.
TT Grade: B
There is no doubt that Toure would be an excellent signing for Celtic, although it may be a little too ambitious for the Bhoys to land.
The Ivorian would certainly add to the team in all departments and would strike plenty of fear into the rest of the Scottish Premiership with the quality he possesses, despite his advancing years.
Although Brown is as important as ever, his performances are starting to become a little bit of a concern for Rodgers’ side and his future is far from sorted at the moment.
For those reasons, Toure would be a better option than the stalwart Celtic currently have on their hands.
