Unwelcome potential transfer blow emerges for Celtic – Report

Celtic fans here in the Tavern are still yet to get over last weekend’s Old Firm derby victory, as they edged one step closer to securing the Scottish Premiership title.

Brendan Rodgers will have been delighted with his team’s performance in their last outing against Rangers, after coming back from a losing position on two occasions to secure all three points with only ten-men. Although, they don’t appear to be having the same kind of luck on the transfer front, as according to reports in the Scottish Sun, a number of clubs are interested in securing Scott Bain’s signature.

Scott Bain joined Celtic on loan from fellow Scottish Premiership side Dundee in the January transfer window, as the Hoops made a move for the Scotsman after losing Craig Gordon to injury.

Indeed, Brendan Rodgers is believed to be keen to hold onto the ‘keeper, whose contract at parent club Dundee expires at the end of the season.

However, the former Liverpool boss will find it difficult to secure a long-term agreement for the shot-stopper at the end of the season, as Bristol City, Birmingham City, Hibernian and Hearts are all interested.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Scott Bain has been rewarded for his sensational performance in the Old Firm derby, as a number of clubs have submitted their interest. Although, this is a huge blow for Celtic as they were hoping to sort out a long-term agreement for the goalkeeper, with a move to English football perhaps being a too bigger opportunity to turn down for the Scotsman.
