Mark Warburton’s Rangers took a thrashing at the hands of rivals Celtic losing 5-1 on the weekend, in the first Old Firm derby since their long awaited return to the SPL.
Two goals from Celtic’s Moussa Dembele had given the home side the advantage before Rangers got one back through Joe Garner just before the break.
Things went dramatically downhill after half-time however as Scott Sinclair added a third in the 61st minute; Dembele completed his hat-trick 20 minutes later and Stuart Armstrong scored the Hoops 5th deep in injury time to complete the rout.
Dembele – only 20-years old – led the line magnificently for Celtic in the absence of the injured Leigh Griffiths as he became the first Celtic player to score an old-firm hat-trick since Stevie Chalmers over half a century ago.
For Rangers fans, the game was deja-vu to the ‘Demolition Derby’ of 2000 when they were thrashed 6-2 in a game where Henrik Larsson scored one of the best Old Firm goals of all time, with his fine nut-meg and chipped effort over the keeper.
As there wasn’t much for the Gers fans to be shouting about after the result, the local at the tavern have been reminiscing to times of old as they look to forget a horrid weekend. They’ve put together a list of their 3 favourite Rangers goals of all time, do you agree?
