Rangers fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to return to winning ways, after losing out in the Scottish Cup semi-final against bitter rivals Celtic.
Encouragingly, Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action later on today against Hearts at Ibrox, as they’ll look to return to winning ways after suffering a heavy defeat against Celtic in the Scottish Cup last weekend. And, many of our local residents received some negative news prior to kick-off at Ibrox, as according to Sky Sports’ pre-match team news, Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller are both suspended, while David Bates and Ryan Jack remain out.
Indeed, Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller have been suspended by Rangers pending an investigation into an angry exchange with manager Graeme Murty, so they’re both set to miss out on today’s must-win clash against Hearts.
Also, Hamburg-bound David Bates is set to miss today’s clash as he continues to struggle with an ankle injury, with many of our local residents wanting to see him back on the pitch before the end of the season.
Lastly, midfielder Ryan Jack continues to recover from a knee operation after sustaining an injury against Motherwell back in December, with the end of the current campaign perhaps coming too soon for the 26-year-old.
Rangers supporters will be gutted that the experienced pairing of Miller and Wallace are missing from the squad, after a heated exchange with manager Graeme Murty. But, the Bluenoses will be desperate to bounce back and gain some momentum after a poor run of results, as they’ll be looking to secure a European spot for next season.
