The Hoops must now back their manager and strengthen key areas wherever possible, with news emerging on transfer target Kobayashi.

### The Verdict: Get it done…

Only two players [racked up more league minutes](https://fbref.com/en/squads/66f38ee7/Vissel-Kobe-Stats) than Kobayashi in the 2022 Japanese top-flight campaign, and Celtic could be about to sign another assured ace from the Far East.

With the 22-year-old hailed as an [‘excellent player’](https://twitter.com/lionelpiguet/status/1588757679937581056?s=20&t=9l7uiMSSzimQD3GhsyZ0hA) by regular reporters of the division, some added solidity at the back for Celtic could further elevate their status as Scotland’s current dominant force.
