Celtic’s Callum McGregor has been an extremely busy footballer this season and the stats appear to back that up.

A remarkable statistic has revealed that the 25-year-old has played more matches than any other footballer in the world this season, having made 50 already for the Scottish Premiership champions.

The midfielder had been made aware of the feat and revealed to The Scottish Sun that it was ‘good to see’.

“I did get sent a tweet saying that I’ve played more games than anyone else in football this season. It’s six more games than any other player in world football. That was good to see,” he said.

“It does show that I’m on the right path and playing well. I think I’ve played most 90 minutes as well. It’s just as well I feel alright! I do want to keep going, keep pushing on, and doing it for Celtic.”

The Verdict:

It is truly remarkable that McGregor has already managed to play in 50 matches for Celtic this season and shows how important he is to Brendan Rodgers and his side.

The 25-year-old has been a key figure for the club ever since he broke through the academy ranks and has won a number of trophies for The Bhoys.

There are still plenty of games of the current season left to play, although it would not be surprising to see McGregor feature in the majority of those as well.
