Celtic: Fans discuss Georgios Samaras following tweet - SPFL News

A lot of Celtic fans are discussing former player Georgios Samaras following a post on Twitter asking fans to give their favourite memories of the striker.

The Greek enjoyed seven seasons in Scotland from 2007-2014, per Transfermarkt, making 243 appearances which provided 71 goals and 49 assists. He also won the Scottish League four times, the League Cup once and the Scottish Cup twice, whilst making 18 appearances in the UEFA Champions League where he scored four goals.

It was clearly a very successful period for the forward during his time at Celtic Park and fans have not been quick to forget the player. They do believe that he had his moments of greatness whilst also having poor times during his career, with one saying: “He could be infuriating at times but what a player.”

He was involved in a great Celtic squad and left some great memories, but clearly was hit and miss as many fans posted similar tweets highlighting his inconsistency at the club.

Now, at the age of 35, per Transfermarkt, the ex-Greece international has hung up his boots, but he also enjoyed spells in the Eredivisie and also in the Premier League with both Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion.

Here is what some Hoops fans had to say about the player:
