Celtic: Fans happy to see Lazio getting knocked out of Europa League

Celtic may have ended their Europa League group campaign on a losing note last night, but many of their fans were still quite pleased with how the final matchday in Group E played out.
The Hoops were already assured of top spot in the group and their 0-2 defeat away to CFR Cluj enabled the Romanian club to accompany them into the knockout rounds.
Should Nir Bitton be given a new contract?
Yes

No

That result ensured that Lazio could not progress and, in any event, the Serie A side failed to uphold their end of the bargain after losing 0-2 against already-eliminated Rennes.
Lazio’s elimination pleased a lot of Celtic fans, with some of the Hoops’ following expressing a dislike for the Italian club when the two teams met earlier in the group.
As noted by the Daily Record, when the teams met at Parkhead in October, some home fans displayed a banner with coarse language directed at Lazio, along with another banner that had strong political connotations, after visiting fans had earlier marched through Glasgow giving fascist salutes.
These Celtic fans on Twitter revelled in the Serie A club’s European demise last night:
Lose on purpose to ensure Lazio are knocked out, I like it.
