Celtic: Fans rave about Greg Taylor after rare start against St Johnstone

A number of Celtic fans were saluting the performance of Greg Taylor after Wednesday night’s win over St Johnstone after the Scotland international was given a rare start by Neil Lennon.
The 22-year-old came into the team for only his fourth Premiership start of the season for the Hoops and his first in almost two months, having not appeared in the intervening seven league games, with Lennon deploying him as a left wing-back in a 3-5-2 formation.
Taylor ended the night with an assist, as it was his cross which was dispatched to the net by Leigh Griffiths for Celtic’s concluding goal in a comfortable 3-0 victory, and he had set up another chance for the striker in the opening minutes at McDiarmid Park as well as seeing his own shot warming the gloves of Zander Clark when the lead was at 1-0. His fine performance was acknowledged by some reporters afterwards. Hamish Carton of 67hailhail.com said that he was “always a good option to the left”, adding: “More performances like this and he’ll have a regular berth in the team”. For Read Celtic, Amy Canavan felt that he provided “great crosses in the first half and was solid enough at the back”.
These Celtic fans took to Twitter to show their own appreciation of Taylor after his display at St Johnstone, with one drawing comparisons with former Brazil left-back Roberto Carlos while another simply said he was ‘outstanding’:

Greg Taylor has been class tonight btw. Anyone who thinks he doesn’t offer anything in attack needs to have a word with themselves.

I'd love it if tonight's game ends up becoming Greg Taylor's "Ryan Christie at Murrayfield" or "Stuart Armstrong at Hampden" moment

A very assured and energetic display from Greg Taylor, looking like a very good attacking full back who knows how to defend too. pic.twitter.com/f6RnDaVn7D
