Celtic: Fans unimpressed with use of pyrotechnics at matches

Many Celtic fans have reacted with disdain to a tweet which seemed to advocate the use of pyrotechnics at games.
The @celticbible Twitter account tweeted images of flares lighting among Hoops supporters at previous matches, along with the caption “No Pyro, No Party”.

Only last month, the club was hit with disciplinary action by UEFA over the use of such pyrotechnics. As reported by BBC, Celtic were fined £10,400 by European football’s governing body after flares were set off at Parkhead during the Europa League win over CFR Cluj in early October. [via BBC]
In the wake of that incident, the club issued a statement appealing to supporters not to light flares at matches, saying “The club does not want it, our supporters do not want it”. [via BBC]
That was the second time this season that Celtic were punished by UEFA over the conduct of spectators, having previously been fined £11,000 over the lighting of flares and throwing of objects during the Europa League play-off win away to AIK in August. [via BBC]
Having seen their club been charged with various offences by UEFA on 18 occasions since 2007, these Celtic fans on Twitter called for an end to the use of pyrotechnics at their team’s matches:
Continually ignoring the club’s plea not to use pyros after over £100k of fines. All heading towards a partial stadium closure. Not real fans, just idiots

No pyro full stop would be a more sensible idea don’t you think? Nah thought you might think that🙈….no regard for the Club whatsoever! Buy yersel a flare if you feel the urge for such nonsense and go to your local park with it that’ll show your club the respect it deserves!

We didn’t need pyro in lisbon, we didn’t need pyro in seville!
