Celtic: Fans were livid about the condition of the pitch at Tynecastle

Despite seeing their team move five points clear at the top of the Premiership following their midweek victory, plenty of Celtic fans still had cause for complaint.
Would you take Aiden McGeady back at Celtic?
Definitely

No chance

The Hoops returned from Edinburgh with a 2-0 victory over Hearts on Wednesday night, although the condition of the pitch at Tynecastle left a number of Celtic supporters far from impressed.
It was only last year that the capital city-based club completed major pitch reconstruction works at their home ground, putting in undersoil heating, a new drainage system and a new irrigation system, along with installing a hybrid reinforced pitch. [via strigroup.com]
However, the club came under fire for the condition of the Tynecastle pitch at the beginning of this season, with their first home game held a week after the stadium hosted part of the Edinburgh Festival. Former Hearts midfielder Michael Stewart described the situation as “a crying shame” on Twitter (via Daily Record).
The Tynecastle surface came in for some scathing criticism from these Celtic fans on Twitter on Wednesday night, with one equating it to the swamp residence of animated film character Shrek:
Expecting Shrek to come out at full time, ‘get oot ma swamp!’. State o that pitch.

Not the greatest of games, but that pitch at Tynecastle is nothing short of a disgrace.
But at the end of the day, we are now 5 points clear at the top of the league.
