Celtic: Fans weren't impressed with team selection prior to Rennes game - SPFL News

Having seen his team already clinch qualification for the knockout rounds of the Europa League, Celtic manager Neil Lennon took the liberty of making four changes to his starting line-up for last night’s Group E encounter with Rennes at Parkhead.

Lewis Morgan started up top in place of the rested Odsonne Edouard, while Olivier Ntcham came into the midfield and Moritz Bauer and Greg Taylor started in the full-back positions. [via Sky Sports]

The team news was confirmed by Celtic’s official Twitter account @CelticFC with just under 90 minutes remaining to kick-off.

Morgan, who was making his first appearance of the Europa League group stage, scored the opening goal in the Hoops’ 3-1 victory, a result which guaranteed top spot for Lennon’s team (as per Sky Sports).

Bauer also had good reason to feel pleased with his contribution afterwards, sending in four crosses on the night, while Ntcham provided the assist for Mikey Johnston’s goal that gave Celtic a three-goal lead.

Before kick-off, though, these Hoops fans on Twitter voiced their displeasure over the manager’s team selection:
