There looks to be a lot of wheeling and dealing at Parkhead in run up to the close of the January transfer window, with players in and out. With rumours occurring of a possible sack of Celtic boss Tony Mowbray, the former West Brom boss is only concentrating on adding to his squad notably a defender and striker according to the Guardian.
Mowbray has been criticised for the Hoops’ poor performance this season with the Scottish side 10 points away from the Rangers who are lying in 1st, also with potential successors already being touted seems as though Mowbray’s time at Celtic But Mowbray is said to be concentrating on transfer business. Mowbray is looking to sign Sean St Ledger of Preston North End for £2.5million. The 25 year old has been out on loan at fellow championship side Middlesbrough making 23 appearances, and looks as he is set to join the Scottish side.
Mowbray is also said to be looking to sell players to increase his transfer fund, with Gordon Strachan’s Middlesbrough on the hunt for Scott McDonald and Stephen McManus. It is said that McManus will join on a loan whilst McDonald will be a £3million signing. Also on the books to leave is left back Daniel Fox with Premiership new boys Burnley looking to sign the 23 year old.
