Our resident Gers in the Transfer Tavern have taken to Twitter as they’re desperate to see their 30-year-old midfielder, Graham Dorrans, back in the team. Rangers slipped to a 3-2 loss at Ibrox yesterday in an Old Firm classic, opening up a nine-point gap between Celtic and Rangers in 1st and 2nd.
The Bhoys in Green effectively sealed the Scottish Premier League title as Odsonne Edouard scored the decisive goal for ten-man Celtic to claim all three points at Ibrox. However, the Gers propping up our bar believe things would’ve been different had their midfield ace, Graham Dorrans, been available.
The Scot got off to a flying start in his career at Ibrox, scoring both goals on his competitive debut for the club as Rangers beat Motherwell 2-1. It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Dorrans though, as a malleolar injury followed by ankle surgery has seen him out injured since late October last year. The ex-Norwich and West Brom man is set to return to fitness in the coming days and our resident Bluenoses can’t wait to see him back in action, just in time for the last Old Firm of the season in the Scottish Cup semi-final next month.
Here’s our resident Gers’ verdict on the midfielder:
We’ll hopefully have McCrorie and Dorrans fit for that game as extra options. I fully believe we can beat them if the tactics are right
