Glasgow Rangers: Gers eye Hladky has Foderingham replacement
According to The Sunday Post, Glasgow Rangers are interesting in signings Vaclav Hladky on a free transfer to replace Wes Foderingham.
It was confirmed last week that Foderingham will be leaving Ibrox at the end of this campaign, which leaves a spot open for another shot stopper to contend with Allan McGregor for the jersey between the sticks.
Hladky’s contract with St. Mirren is also set to end in the near future, which could see them swoop for the Czech when he becomes a free agent.
It is no surprise to see Steven Gerrard in the market for another goalkeeper. Jak Alnwick will also soon depart the club, which means that McGregor is now the only senior goalkeeper available currently with the 54-time Scottish champions. However, the Gers should look closer to home in order to resolve this issue that lies in front of them.
22-year-old Robby McCrorie is currently out on loan at Livingston in the Scottish Premiership, having played eight games in the second half of the season. He kept two clean sheets during that spell, conceding nine times. With other loans at Queen of the South, Berwick Rangers and Greenock Morton under his belt, it is time he was given a chance with his employers. He has already been the subject of interest from Premier League club West Ham United – clearly, his ability has not gone unnoticed.

Hladky would be coming in on a free transfer and his wages would unlikely break the bank, but with McCrorie in the wings, it is an expense that the Gers do not need to make. McCrorie can do the same job at no extra cost. Hopefully, Gerrard and Ross Wilson see just that.
