Glasgow Rangers: ‘Gers have double plan for Robby McCrorie

According to Football Insider, Glasgow Rangers have a double plan for Robby McCrorie, first looking to give him a new contract and then send him on loan to at least an English Championship club.
The arrival of Jon McLaughlin means that McCrorie may find playing time hard to come by at Ibrox in the immediate future.
As such, Football Insider reported that the ‘Gers are looking to tie him down to a new contract before sending him out on loan.
McLaughlin is a good addition on paper for the ‘Gers. He has previous experience in the Scottish Premiership, is a two-time Scotland international and conceded just 27 goals in 32 matches with Sunderland in League One before the 2019/20 campaign was brought to a premature end.
However, his arrival is another obstacle for McCrorie at Ibrox. Allan McGregor is the clear number one at the club despite already being 39 years of age. Whilst he may not be around much longer before he calls it a day, McLaughlin is seven years his junior – if he were to take over, McCrorie might have to wait a long time before getting his own chance between the sticks.
Are you happy with the signing of McLaughlin?
Yes

No

This new signing is a short-term option but there is no reason why they couldn’t have already looked to the future by giving the 22-year-old the back-up role. Hopefully it doesn’t backfire on Steven Gerrard and Ross Wilson.
