The Slovenians will be our third and final opponents in the group stages on June 23rd when with a bit of luck we will already have half an eye on the last 16.
Their coach Matjaz Kek reckons that the 20-year-old central midfielder represents his side’s greatest threat to English hegemony in Group C. He is not alone either. Former Internazional boss Jose Mourinho handed the youngster his first senior appearance for the Italian club last season and rates him highly as an emerging prospect.
Krhin has been with Inter since the age of 16 and is still a bit of an unknown quantity with only five appearances for the Serie A Champions and three international caps to his name, but with ‘The Special One’ lauding his power, athleticism and technical ability, the Three Lions probably ought to exercise some caution with this one.
England fans with a better memory than mine might just remember Krhin coming on as a second half substitute in our 2-1 friendly win over Slovenia last September.
