There is interest being shown in AC Milan full-back Ricardo Rodriguez from across Europe, as reported by Swiss outlet Blick.
The suggestion is made that his association with the Milanese club could come to an end soon due to a lack of game time, with Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Roma and Everton said to be interested in signing the Switzerland international.
The arrival of Theo Hernandez at San Siro has hit Rodriguez’s game time hard since the Frenchman recovered from a capsular rupture in the ankle, as per Transfermarkt.
Rodriguez has started 4 games this season, which all came in the opening fixtures, before Hernandez had made his full recovery, as per WhoScored.
He hasn’t played a single minute of football since being replaced by the Frenchman in the 72nd minute of the 2-0 loss against Internazionale, having also missed out for Stefano Pioli’s first game as manager of the club.
This follows a season in which he had made 35 league starts, showing how quick the turnaround has been in his stature at the club.
If things do not change, then it would be understandable if Rodriguez wanted to move, as it would be a blow for him to spend the majority of his time on the bench, especially after being so prevalent last season.
From Milan’s point of view, they may try to keep hold of the Switzerland international, in case Hernandez picks up an injury.
