As you’d well imagine, following their stunning run of results recently, the Tottenham Hotspur fans crowded around one area of the Transfer Tavern’s bar have been celebrating Mauricio Pochettino’s name both often and loudly.
The Argentine is the absolute darling of north London and, finally, Spurs have a manager they can hopefully enjoy for many years to come as they prepare to enter an exciting new dawn.
Well, they hope.
Reports emanating out of Italy, Calcio Mercato to be exact, suggest top brass at White Hart Lane are considering a move for Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, with Pochettino reportedly on Barcelona’s shortlist to potentially replace Luis Enrique at the Camp Nou should he leave.
The Italian coach has also been linked with taking over from Arsene Wenger at bitter rivals Arsenal of late after impressing in Turin, stepping out of Antonio Conte’s shadow at I Bianconeri. He led the Turin titans to the Champions League final in 2015, as well as two Serie A league titles in his two seasons in charge.
Top brass on Hotspur Way are understood to view the 49-year-old as someone who can further their project and, while the Tottenham supporting punters are hoping and praying Pochettino remains at the Lane, reckon Allegri would be a good option should the worst happen.
Where would Allegri suit best, Arsenal or Tottenham? Let us know below…
